About the project

Logistics can also go green.

The sustainable and economical modular construction of ecoPARK Jena in a contemporary design is not only of ecological and economic importance, but also innovative and of very high quality. Ecology and economy go hand in hand here.

ecoPARK Jena is built to the KfW40ee standard, which means that at least 55% of the building's heating and cooling supply comes from renewable energies. A photovoltaic system is installed on the roof of the logistics hall and the electricity it generates is used to power the heat pump (heating). Only fossil-free energy sources are used, and the entire supporting structure of the hall is made of wood and is therefore CO2-positive. The components of the façade and the insulation material are made from recycled plastic (including plastic bottles) and are therefore recyclable.

In the largest industrial area in Jena

ecoPARK Jena is located in the middle of the JENA21 business park (Technologiepark Südwest, Göschwitz) and thus in the middle of one of Jena's largest industrial areas and in the attractive southern region of Jena. Global players from the digital economy and the high-tech sector, such as Carl Zeiss Meditec AG and Analytik Jena AG, are located there, as well as the Thuringian State Institute for Environment and Geology (TLUG). The area has great potential for the establishment of modern, manufacturing companies and for the creation of high-quality jobs, also due to its accessibility and facilities (broadband connection (100 Mbit/s)) and thus offers first-class location factors. Research-based companies located in this business park also benefit from its proximity to the numerous research institutes at the Beutenberg Campus Jena, as well as to the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences and the Friedrich Schiller University.
