Commercial and multi-user industrial park in Gelsenkirchen
ecoPARKS has acquired the site of the "Schalker Verein" business and industrial park in Gelsenkirchen.
A particularly sustainable commercial and multi-user industrial park will be built on the site, which covers a total area of around 27,274 m² in the immediate vicinity of the city center. A divisible new hall building including offices is planned. The aim of the project is to completely dispense with the use of fossil fuels in operations. To this end, a photovoltaic system for self-consumption of energy will be installed on the entire roof. The façades and roofs are made from recycled building materials.

The "Schalker Verein" is centrally located in Gelsenkirchen, 800 meters east of the main train station. With a total total area of around 100 hectares, it is one of the largest development sites in the city. The site of the former Schalker Verein smelting works has been extensively developed, prepared and opened up in recent years. Companies from the warehousing, production and logistics sectors are now settling on the site, where steel was produced and processed for decades. The area to the east of the site has also been further developed with the establishment of large-scale food retailers, a petrol station, discount stores and drugstores.
The site is located in the "Schalker Verein" development area with connections to Kesselstrasse, Hochofenstrasse and Europastrasse. The site is therefore the gateway to the new "Schalker Verein" industrial, commercial and logistics area along Europastrasse.
Due to its central location in the Ruhr area, Gelsenkirchen is very well connected to the transportation network. It is easily accessible via the A2, A42 and A52 as well as the B224. The airport of the state capital Düsseldorf is approx. 40 km away.
